LivingInLiberia.com
provides a place for those who were not born in Liberia to learn
more about the ins and outs of daily life here. Except where noted,
it focuses primarily on things pertaining to the capital city
of Monrovia. It offers answers to simple questions like "where
are the grocery stores?" (there's a number of good ones),
"is there an American-style dry cleaners here?" (actually,
yes there is one!), and "What are the good restaurants?"
(the list is growing as more restaurants open regularly).
This site also gives helpful information on more
complicated issues, like "what do I do if I get pulled over
by the police?" and "How can I avoid being the victim
of petty crime?" Articles from local experts will provide valuable
perspectives on a variety of issues.
Regardless of whether you are in Liberia for
business purposes, government/military purposes, religious/NGO
purposes, or some other purpose, LivingInLiberia.com
can help you be successful and at ease here. Please feel free
to explore the site. Whether you will be arriving in Liberia for
the first time next week, or you are one of those that stuck it
out here throughout the war years, you may be surprised at what
you discover in these pages! |
A
Note From Luke:
A site like this can only be helpful if the information
stays current. I am a relative newcomer to Monrovia, and the information
in these pages comes from the veteran expats I have had the privilege
of getting to know here. Still, no one person has the complete picture,
and the odds are good that if you have lived here for any period
of time, you know things that aren't on this site (but should be).
All that to say that I'd really like to hear
from you! Email me with tips and favorite businesses that I can
add to the site, or with corrections/ updates to the ones that
are already here. Just send your email to me at:
